PRINCESS MURALS

Princess Murals – Just What Your Little Girl Deserves

By Melissa A Evans

Princess murals can make your daughter’s bedroom attractive and magical. If your little girl is a big fan of Barbie and other princesses, what better way to address their interest than to get them wall decals, which can be removed. Whether it’s just stickers with a princess on them to large room-sized murals, your daughter would never have to crave for their favorite princess anymore. Most online stores carry a complete line of characters and offers free shipping as well.

When it comes to these murals, you can choose a variety of styles and colors. A good starting point will be to choose patterns of purple and pink. A lighter shade of a beautiful pink and lovely lavender can be ideal for cute little toddlers or baby nursery. For the matured and grown-up girls, dark and bold color murals can be worth your consideration. Be creative with your choice of colors. Remember that wall decors need not have similar colors.

There is a large range of colors that can be considered ranging from two toned or bordered with ornate lacy designs. Whatever your child prefers, there will surely be a color that can match the design of their room. Likewise, there are various sizes and shapes of the Princess.

There are various models of wall murals to choose from. One of the one’s that is the most preferred is the Barbie princess murals. If you prefer a less traditional style, the Fairy Princess wall mural can give you your fill. They are available as easy to attach and remove styles. Most of them can be easily repositioned and they can easily be cleaned and will not mess up your wall.

If there is plenty of available space in the wall, a pre-designed castle scene or scenery can make the room attractive. They are made from vinyl so sticking and removing them can be easy whenever there is a need to. Personalized wall scenes is also possible as there are individual stickers included in the package. There are separate designs as well, like a knight. There are creative and imaginative designs that you can consider.

To complete the princess room filled with magic, you can add a personal look to it. Put a magical wand on the wall. To make a pink shelf, you can add a princess hat. You can also add some wings in there. Most products found in baby supply boutiques come in vibrant colors.

When decorating your child’s room with wall murals, it should be reflective of the personality of your child. Decorating the girls room room with princess murals can provide a great bonding experience with your daughter. These experiences are something they will treasure and look back to as long as they live.

You can always make your little daughter feel like a princess with these wall decors. Princess wall murals can become more attractive with comforters and of course, sheets that have castle or princess-like patterns. After all, in your castle, your little daughter is your princess.

Princess murals are very beautiful and will look outstanding in your daughter’s room. Every little girl deserves some Princess wall stickers to place along with the mural.

PRINCESS PARTY THEMES

Two Princess Party Themes – Our Twins’ Birthday Party

By Jillian Gallo

Two princess party themes for my twin daughters. It wasn’t an easy task, but I managed to pull it off with out any major hitches. My almost three year old twin daughter’s birthday date was approaching quickly. They both know who their very favorite Disney Princess is and that is who they wanted to be their birthday party theme. Unfortunately for me, they both had a different Disney Princess in mind. One loves Snow White and the other loves Belle from Beauty and The Beast. What’s a mother to do? Host a party around both princesses, of course!

There are lots of Snow White birthday party supplies and not too many from Belle or Beauty and the Beast, so we went with the easy choice on the supplies. I went with the Disney Princesses party supplies package. It has lots of Princesses on each plate, cup and napkin. I bought some Snow White napkins and dessert plates to have some just Snow White supplies there. I did, however, buy each girl a Princess costume…one of Belle and one of Snow White. So that cemented which princess wanted which theme for everyone at the party.

We did cupcakes instead of a traditional birthday cake. It was easier for me since I was trying to work with two themes. (thank goodness for the Disney Princess party supplies!) I ordered edible cake images and asked the seller if they could make them half Belle and half Snow White. They said yes, so that made my cupcake decorating ideas work out just perfectly. I baked the cupcakes the day before the party and frosted them. I put the edible cake toppers right on top of them and they looked great.

I gave out the Disney Princess party favor box as a thank you to all our little party guests. The older guests will have to enjoy the party pictures with them in it…when I get around to sending them all out. It is not easy to be the perfect hostess when you have three year old twins to take care of. Thank goodness, most of my friends understand that!

We played some princess games I found at a fun party website and I named half of them for Snow White and half for Belle. That made both of my little girls very happy and it was so easy to think of fun names for the simple, classic party games of Simon Says, Pin the Tail, Musical Chairs and Freeze Dance. These games are perfectly suited for the three year old party crowd. Simon Says became Belle Says, Pin the Tale became Pin the Crown on Snow White…you get it, right?

I also printed out some free Snow White coloring pages and some free Beauty and the Beast coloring pages and got out the crayons. The party ended with all the kids winding down by coloring the free pages. Coloring is an easy way to let the kids settle down after some rowdy party games. I don’t know one child who doesn’t like to color!

A great party tip for all you at home party planners out there…plan more games and activities for the kids than you think you will need. It is always better to plan for more than it is to not have enough activities to keep the kids busy! We had a great time at our double princess birthday party and I was saved by the Disney Princess party supplies.

Check out Princess Party Supplies for all your party supplies and party ideas! Find all the princess party planning help and creative ideas you need at Princess Party Ideas the site where you can find games, crafts, recipes…anything with a princess theme, even Disney Princess Halloween costumes. Princess parties are perfect for a girls birthday so come on and find some fun girls party ideas. Fun games like Royal Ball Freeze Dance and Pin the Tiara make a girls party so much fun…in fact, it makes it a Regal Celebration.

DISNEY PRINCESS COSTUMES

How Disney’s Princess Tiana Compares With Cinderella

By Shelby Strong

One of Disney’s most classic tales, of the Cinderella princess, has a lot in common with the newest of the Disney princesses. Princess Tiana from the new movie, The Princess and the Frog, takes aspects of the exceptional tale of the Cinderella princess and gives it a refreshingly modern twist.

Both stories begin with hard-working young women. Cinderella is over-worked, trying to meet the demands of her stepmother, step-sisters, and the seemingly endless chores she is assigned to. The death of her newly remarried father left Cinderella with her new family, and she wants to fulfill her father’s desire of being good to her new family.

Likewise, Princess Tiana is also over-worked. The story opens with her working two jobs in 1912 New Orleans. Tiana tries to save to purchase an old sugar-mill to create her own restaurant, which was part of her father’s dreams. Both girls enter their stories over-worked and faithful to their father’s wishes.

The opportunity for a ball also enters both girls lives quickly, and so does the Prince Charming. Cinderella is enthralled with the idea of a ball, and immediately begins work on a simple gown to wear. Just before its time to leave for the ball, Cinderella’s stepsisters ruin her gown and leave her with more chores than she can handle. A fairy godmother steps in and, bippity-boppity-boo, enables Cinderella to attend the ball in a beautiful blue gown. The Prince fell in love with Cinderella immediately.

Unlike the prince in Cinderella princess story, Prince Naveen did not fall in love with Tiana immediately. Tiana had intended on going to the costume party to help work at it, and after a ruined costume, she felt unable to attend. A friend lent her a tiara, and Tiana was able to attend the party dressed as princess. Confusing her with a real princess, Prince Naveen, in the shape of a frog, approaches her.

The princess Disney costumes for these two princesses is incredibly similar. It is almost like Tiana was dressing up as a Cinderella princess at the ball! Both Disney princesses wore a pastel blue gown with a contoured bodice and a full, long skirt. A princess Disney costume for Cinderella could be used as a dress-up costume of Princess Tiana in the first ball scene. Although the sleeves and accessories of the dresses differ for the Disney princesses, it is notable that both girls meet their Prince Charming and enter the ball scene wearing a similarly shaped pastel blue gown.

Princess Tiana and Princess Cinderella also had a plethora of animal friends. Animals were drawn to Cinderella’s gentle, loving nature, and became helpful friends to her. Children loved the characters of these animals. Once Tiana becomes a frog, she too makes friends with animals and other unusual beings. The relationship of human and animals makes these Disney princesses unique.

Despite the similar story elements and the similar princess Disney costumes, only time will tell if Princess Tiana will reach the epic place as a favorite Disney princess like Cinderella. Both stories feature elements that will delight children as well as encourage the value of friendship and a solid work ethic. As the newest Disney Princess, I think we all hope Princess Tiana lives up to her predecessor Princess Cinderella.

Shelby is the mother of 2 girls and 1 boy and lives in Orem, Utah. She also runs a home-based business called My Cute Dressups at http://www.mycutedressups.com that sells Princess dress up clothes and other fun pretend play items for kids, toddlers, and even teenagers and adult princess costumes. PRINCESS BEDS

Posh Princess Beds and Bedroom Decor For Your Posh Princess

By Joann Meansand Johnny Means

At the heart of any princess’s bedroom, of course, is her bed. It’s where she gets her beauty rest. And so it must be as beautiful as she is, and as comfortable as they both are beautiful. Many little princesses love princess castle beds – girls bunk beds that can double as a playhouse, designed in the shape and style of a miniature castles. The surrounding bedroom decor can then incorporate the elements of the rest of her kingdom. A drawbridge can lead out from these castle beds across a soft blue area rug as the moat, into a vast kingdom painted as a mural on her four walls.

Certain other choice accessories added to the bedroom decor can complement the princess castle bed and accentuate the feeling of being treated like a lady. For example, no proper lady would be without a dressing table, or at least a glamorous wardrobe or dresser befitting a lady and a well-lighted mirror for her to properly primp in front of. A bedside table or nightstand is also an elegant and luxurious touch for a little girl – and one that can easily be built into the design of the princess bed itself.

In fact, many childrens furniture components required also by a posh princess and her currently ruling King and Queen (that’s you) can be artfully integrated into a princess beds design, including shelves, drawers, hanging closet space, cubbies, display cases, toy chests, study desks, and more.

In the way of other accessories, large stuffed animals and fairy tale characters will provide her with subjects to rule over and attendants to serve her whims (both of which are roles any posh princess’s parent would be happy no doubt to have taken off their shoulders for a while). In the way of other design elements, her favorite photos, personal artwork, and any accolades or awards she’s earned can all be placed prominently at her eye level so she can always be reminded of how much of a treasure she is.

The colors selected for princess beds and bedroom decor should complement each other – and the posh lady’s tastes herself – as well. Pink is a popular choice as a primary color for posh princess bedroom decor, with lavenders and light blues also extremely effective. Sprinkling highlights then of yellows, greens, and reds add vibrancy and sparkle to the room.

And whatever you do, don’t forget the matching bedding – pillows, bedspread, and sheets – to go with the princess castle bed.

These are all just ideas, of course, to get your creativity stirring. But whatever you decide, bestowing on your daughter her own custom princess bed and bedroom decor will go a long way towards helping her fulfill that vision of becoming that powerful and elegant woman later on in life who she’s destined to be.

Joann Means, interior designer, and her husband Johnny Means, master craftsman, have spent the last several years bringing fairy tales to life for little girls and boys alike, far and wide. Their creations are both beautiful and functional, stimulating a child’s fantastic imagination and never-ending craving for fun and excitement while at the same time serving a parent’s need for safety and security. The beds at Sweet Dream Children’s Interiors add color and sparkle, personality and life to any little girl’s bedroom, from posh princess castle beds to quaint Victorian cottages.

What’s more, Joann and Johnny Means will help you explore ways to decorate the rest of the room so that your girl doesn’t only get a custom theme bed but a total custom theme bedroom. PRINCESS ROOM DECORATING TIPS

Princess Decorating For a Fairytale Bedroom

By Joyce Henry

Childhood is a time for dreams and make-believe. Does your little girl like to pretend that she is a princess in a faraway magical kingdom while in her very own princess bedroom? If your little girl would really like to be a pretend princess, now you can help her dreams come true. With a little imagination and princess decorating of her bedroom, your little princess can feel like real royalty.

Start with where she dreams her dreams – her bed. A fantasy princess bed can be a four poster, a canopy bed (or even both), or a sleigh bed. If you have two little princesses sharing a room, you can even create princess-themed bunk beds to suit both of them.

Beds can be fashioned as a castle, even complete with turrets and a drawbridge. Another possible princess option would be a bed in the shape of an enchanted Cinderella carriage. Whatever your choice, be sure to add lots of soft pillows, lacy and silky fabrics, and elegant bedding. Individual Disney princess bedding is available, if your daughter has a favorite princess. Also available is bedding that groups several of the most popular princesses together.

The color scheme for your princess decorating is important. Be sure to involve your little girl in the decisions, so she can make this room her own. You might consider soft pinks and lavenders as the main colors, with touches of white. Gold or silvery accents add a sense of elegance and royalty.

You can paint princess-themed murals on the walls, and puffy white clouds. Even easier and very affordably, the walls can be decorated with decals depicting castles, tiaras, trellises and climbing vines, bridges, stars, wands, fairy godmothers, and other magical images.

Princess decorating adornments are everywhere, from curtains and valances to throw rugs and bedside lamps. A currently popular new idea is to add an elegant chandelier to the center of the ceiling.

Your little princess will need to always look her best, so she should have somewhere to keep her clothing neat and a place to primp and fix her hair. This means she will need a roomy wardrobe or an existing closet that can be updated with matching gauzy fabric hangings, and a pretty decorated dressing table with a special mirror. White furniture will go beautifully in any princess bedroom, or you can find already finished furniture ideas online.

Whatever your princess decorating decisions, your little girl’s princess bedroom will be a thing of beauty for her fairytale adventures that she will love for years to come.

PRINCESS BEDROOM DESIGN TIPS

How to Design a Princess Bedroom

By Shelby Strong

Many little girls love the Disney princesses and idolize them so it makes sense that they would like their room decorated pink like Sleeping Beauty or pink and purple like Rapunzel and her long hair. There are many princesses, so choose her favorite one and start a theme. There are a few steps to creating the room of her dreams, which include:

First, decide on the color scheme. Most little girls will want to have a pink room, but don’t go too dark and make sure there is some white in the room (like the doors and trim) to break it up so that it will be more aesthetically appealing. Lowe’s has a wonderful line of princess colors from pink for Sleeping Beauty, to yellow Belle, to green for Little Mermaid and light blue for Cinderella. This is a great place to start. You can also go there and get ideas and find color swatches that match you and your kids tastes. Next, paint the room the color you choose. Nothing gives a room a face lift like a fresh coat of paint. If you feel like you can’t make the choice on the color, since it is the most important aspect of the room, you can hire a designer for around $100 that will help you find the perfect items for any little girls princess room.

Second, every princess needs a canopy bed. If you are on a budget, try checking your local classified’s sites for princess beds. If the sky is the limit, have one custom made for your little girl with a desk and drawers for extra storage for her toys, stuffed animals, dolls, and princess dress ups. You will need to find a quilt to go on the bed, as not to overdo the princess theme, get a quilt that is solid white and lacey. You want to go simple on the bedding.

Third, now to the fun part, decorating the room. Now days there are tons of fun wall clings that you can use to adhere to the walls and then someday when a princess room isn’t wanted anymore, you can simply remove them. From eBay to Amazon, you can find any princess wall clings you want. You may need to be patient to find the right ones. Plan on spending $20-$50 on the princess wall clings. Or you can hire a struggling student artist to come paint your favorite scene. You can also buy letters in vinyl (or paint them yourself with stencils) to put her name on the wall as princess “_____” fill in the blank there.

Another way to decorate the walls is to get beautiful hooks and place 2 or more on a wall to make a focal point. You can hang fancy princess dress up costumes on a pretty gold hanger. She can play in them and then hang them up or if you prefer, they could be just for looks. Some good ideas would be a Cinderella dress, Belle dress, or Sleeping Beauty dress since those are the most popular Disney princesses.

As finishing touches, you can add shelves, toys, throw pillows and storage for toys and other items your children like to keep in their room. Try yard sales or your local thrift stores for great finds or you can also find a number of princess items online on places like amazon and eBay.

There are so many ways you can save money on designing a room, but most of all, have fun designing your child’s princess room. Get her involved in the planning and preparation and you will be left with a beautiful Disney princess room of her dreams. She will have many fun play dates and sleepful nights in her new room!
